Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Sandhurst Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, must be held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, renters are required to provide valid identification and proof of their current address, as well as payment information and a security deposit. Any further requirements will be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or at our Sandhurst office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. The balance and any security deposit are typically required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the vehicle for any existing damage and report it immediately. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed by both parties. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same condition as when collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling charges will apply if not returned adequately filled. Late returns may incur additional fees, so please inform us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, plus an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals from Sandhurst include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts specified in the Rental Agreement. Optional insurance enhancements may be available to minimize your financial liability. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is secured. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse will remain your liability, regardless of insurance status.
6. Cancellations and Modifications
Cancellation and modification policies differ based on your booking type and the notice given. Please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar dangerous pursuits is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials, sub-letting to unauthorized parties, or permitting unapproved drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of substances, exceeding the vehicle's intended use, or surpassing passenger and weight limits is not permitted. Additionally, driving outside the designated geographical boundaries without prior authorization is against our policy.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Sandhurst will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the total amount you paid for your rental within the last year. This limitation does not apply to claims related to personal injury or death due to negligence, or for fraudulent actions.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
